Its been a few years since we have been to Dollywood, forgoing the Smoky Mountain getaway for places like Kings Island and Disneyworld. But this spring we decided we should venture back to the "local" amusement park. I did some researching online, and found that our best deal would be to purchase season passes. The best value was to purchase 1 gold pass (for me) which gave us free parking and a discount within the park on food, drinks and souvenirs. and 5 regular passes for the various people who tend to go everywhere with me... aka the kids. The downfall of season pass purchases during the month of April, is the fact that everyone seems to be purchasing them. We waited in line an hour to get our pictures taken.
The first day, the kids and I just went to check things out, see what was new, and what we remembered. This was baby J's first amusement park, and she had a blast. Though it is hard to explain to a 2 yr old that no matter how much you like the ride, you have to get off when it stops, and wait in line again if you want to ride again.
We only managed to hit about 4 rides on Friday as we had a lot of other stuff to get accomplished, plus Beanie was headed our way.
